This noble mosque lies between Mecca al-Mukarramah and Ta'if, 29 km from Mecca al-Mukarramah.
The Prophet (s.a.w.) entered the state of Ihram here for Umrah on Wednesday, the twelfth of Dhul-Qa'dah, in the eighth year of the Hijrah, while returning from the conquest of Ta'if after the Battle of Hunayn. It is related from the Prophet (s.a.w.) that seventy prophets entered Ihram from this blessed place and performed Umrah.
